Because the ordinary target recognition system can't follow the target in the large-scale scene and also can't obtain the details of a far-distance target, a cooperative dual-camera system for specific target recognition based on CSHG was designed in this paper to solve the above problems, which had effectively tracked and recognized the far-distance specific target in a large-scale scene. The main works and new ideas of this paper were showed as the following aspects:(1) A target detection algorithm based on AdaboostThis paper made a detailed introduction about the target detection algorithm based on Adaboost. The concepts about Haar-features and integral image were both carried out deep researches. The training methods of the cascade classifier were also discussed. Finally we got a specific target detection classifier which was a bit effective. In this way, we finished the rough detection about the specific target.(2) A target track and recognition algorithm based on RSOM and CSHG modelThis paper focused on the basic methods of the target recognition algorithm based on CSHG model, which included SIFT feature extraction algorithms, Delaunay graph's construction and its similarity measurements' definition, the training methods of RSOM clustering tree, the construction of CSHG model and its recognition method and so on. We proposed a way combining Adaboost and CSHG model, which made a meticulous detection about image target and tracked it at the same time. After that, target recognition was finished at last.(3) Cooperative dual-camera controlThis paper firstly introduced basic situations about cooperative dual-camera systems, and made a study on how to initialize the cooperative dual-camera system, then we used the look-up table method to make it. After that, we analyzed the process of controlling cooperative dual-camera system.(4) The design and build of a cooperative dual-camera systemThrough analyzing the function commands of system, we chose the fit devices and using VS2008+MFC with OpenCV library to build the software platform for system, in the meanwhile we explained the functions of every module and their processing relationships between each other. After finishing the design and build of the cooperative dual-camera system for target recognition based on CSHG, we carried out a series of experiments and proved the feasibility of the system.
