The Emotion Motivation Mechanism Of “Performative Contention” In The Era Of We Media

In today's China, with the period of developmental strategic opportunity overlapping with the emerging period of social contradictions, social contentions have evidently increased due to political transformation and democratic development. Of all these contentions, the so-called “performative contention” is very unique. As an artistic political life, its performativity is very outstanding, which reflects the positive political choices that the participants make under this strict political frame. Not all the contentions from bottom class could draw media's attention. Only the ones with powerful journalistisch effect and enough media focus could do it. “Contention of performance” is the key to bottom politics. Its performativity is more obvious through the effect of news and new media. The previous studies concentrate a lot on how the weak use their “weapons”. But now, what kind of “weapon” is really effective is the focus of more and more studies. Especially in this era of we media, only the “weapon” that could draw the public's attention can generate great power, thus making the resistance of the weak more performative.Currently, there are many theories on social movement, but most of them are from rational angle, not emotional angle, let alone the ones that focus on “performative contention”. Though emotion research has some supporters in China, they barely notice the performative actions in those contentions. The answers or implications of the questions of how “contention of performance” comes into being in China in its transformation process, why people choose to realize their contentions by performance, how should organs of authority react in face of the increasing contention methods and events, whether the masses use public opinion as a “weapon” out of frustration or with other purposes and where the road ahead is for the bottom class might lie in the studies of “performative contention”. The study of performative contention is a cross-subject study. In the angle of journalism, on the basis emotion motivation theory, it also combines with the subjects of sociology, politics, computer science and it concentrates on the movement of the resistance, cyber citizens, and public media.
