There are many problems in the existing automatic calibration method for camera, but the method of non-automatic calibration is low efficiency and time consuming.This paper hasdesigned an automatic method of cameracalibration based on improved chessboard.This paper have analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of existing automatic calibration method of camera, and improvedthe ordinary template board. Based on the improved templateboard, the image preprocessing, symbol circle recognition and sorting, corner extraction and sorting, camera parameter calculation model are studied, and the calibration experiment and accuracy analysis was carried on.It is verified that the method can overcome the influence of the complex calibration environment, projective distortion, uneven illumination in corner detection, and solve the problem that there are more than one result in corner sorting whenthe image relative to the rotation angle of the optical axis of the camera is greater than 90. The corner detection is less time-consuming, andnot need manual intervention. The calibration accuracy can reach the level of the Matlab calibration toolbox. The effect of several factors on the accuracy of the calibration results in the process of analysis, and for each kind of factor, have done a large number of experiments, and access to the experimental data, and have drawnthe curve of the change between them, and the influence mechanism of various factors on the calibration accuracy is determined.
