Voltage reference source is widely used in the analog circuit and digital analog mixed circuit. As the "reference" of circuits, voltage reference source is better than ordinary power supply with higher accuracy and stability. Voltage reference source is used in circuits in order to obtain voltage independent of the supply voltage, the operating temperature and the load current. Its performance directly affects the stability of circuit, so the design of voltage reference source is particularly important for integrated circuit system. Integrated circuit layout acts as a link between circuit design and chip manufacture, layout design determines whether the circuit design can be converted into a qualified circuit chip. The main work of this paper is to complete the circuit design and layout design of the voltage reference source by using bipolar process, and pass the relevant verification.In this paper, we investigate the development status of the research on reference voltage source, classify different voltage references and compare their circuit structures and characteristics, focuses on analyzing the main factors of the temperature characteristics of the gap voltage reference. In combination with a reference voltage source circuit product development project, we complete the reference voltage source system design and circuit design, and use the Tanner EDA tools to verify the circuit function.Layout design is completed by the mature bipolar process from certain company. The layout is optimized combining with chip line design rules, in order to minimize the parameter errors of the devices in the circuit, and to optimize the area of layout?Finally the layout passes the checkout of the software Tanner.This layout designed uses a 50 V 5um bipolar process of YD Company to manufacture the project product. According to the result of the first chip, we improve the over temperature protection design of the circuit. The manufactured circuit chip is packaged and tested. Test results show that the output voltage accuracy is 5±0.05 V, the linear regulation rate is up to 4.29 mV, the load regulation rate is up to 5.17 mV, the TC of output voltage is 36ppm/?, the PSRR is up to-65 dB.
