Controller is the core of the automatic control system.Performance evaluation and monitoring must be applied to ensure the control performance.The generalized minimum variance controller based performance evaluation is a widely used method.As so far,in the design of generalized minimum variance controller,the impact of measurement noise is ignored.However,the values recorded from actual instruments contain measurement noise more or less.The measurement noise will impact the performance of generalized minimum variance controller.To solve this problem,this paper first analysis the influence of the measurement noise on the generalized minimum variance control system,and then introducing filters to the generalized minimum variance control system to improve the controller performance.The results of simulation show the effectiveness of the proposed methods.The main work of this paper include following:1.The impact of measurement noise on the output of single-input single-output system with generalized minimum variance controller is analyzed.A generalized minimum variance controller based on exponential filter is proposed to improve the performance of the control system.Simulation examples show the effectiveness of the proposed method.2.The impact of measurement noise on the output of multi-input multi-output system with generalized minimum variance controller is analyzed.A generalized minimum variance controller based on exponential filter is proposed to improve the performance of the controlsystem.Simulation examples show the effectiveness of the proposed method.3.The Kalman filter is introduced into generalized minimum variance control system to improve the controller performance.The comparison between the exponential filter based generalized minimum variance controller and Kalman filter based generalized minimum variance controller shows the superiority of Kalman filter based generalized minimum variance controller.In this study,exponential filter and Kalman filter are used to reduce the impact of measurement noise on the generalized minimum variance controller,and improve the performance of generalized minimum variance controller with measurement noise.
