Nowadays scientific research institutions generally face the problems of inability of hardware compared with business development needs, high hardware cost and low utilization rate, data loss caused by inadequate integration management caused by distributed storage of data resources, and onerous maintenance task of the client end. High performance computing power is generally considered to be the core competitiveness of scientific research units under the unprecedented attention, so how to realize the low cost of investment, but also can effectively obtain the ability of high performance computing and scientific user and data management ability, so as to make scientific research institutions can pursue high quality design freely. This is a research direction of modern strategic significance.In order to solve the practical problems of scientific research institutions, this article based on the design and implementation of the private cloud computing platform construction project of the mechanical institute in university, and studied how to construct a modernized private cloud computing platform. Starting from the practical business needs of the institute, this article firstly analyzed the informatization status quo of the institute, summarized prominent problems of the institute in the aspect of current informatization development, and narrated the important application prospect and trend of private cloud platform in the informatization development of scientific research institutions. Secondly, the article designed the whole set of private cloud execution plan according to the scientific research application business needs and budget of the institute, emphatically described the aspects of hardware type selection, safety design of the data layer, loading balance design of the control layer, application publishing design of the application layer, operation design of the user's layer, and the cloud storage management tactics design etc. It also designed the single sign-on system meeting application requirement concerning the registration failure and verified the justifiability and feasibility of the final design plan concerning its effectiveness. Then the article followed the proposed design plan to describe in detail the realization process of the private cloud computing platform based on the virtual technology, emphatically described the platform deployment procedure, the realization details, and the code realization of the single sign-on system each function module. Finally, the article conducted multiple-pressure testing and on-the-site multiple-application testing concerning the private cloud computing platform constructed according to the author's plan; the article used multiple-person simultaneous complicated 3D model design, multiple-core parallel simulated operation, and electric classroom design application operation to evaluate whether the design has met the initial requirement of the study subject, and followed the data from the testing to make effective analysis of the problems and make improvements in design and deployment.The research result showed that application virtualization technology to realize current private cloud computing platform can meet the informatization needs of the institute very well. Many people simultaneously log on to the private cloud computing platform for high performance applications, greatly saving the cost of hardware, software and maintenance. Through visits and surveys, the author also found that no institutes have deployed such a design plan yet. Thus it has some innovative and economic value. Practice proves that this study subject is an important development trend for scientific research institutions to execute informatization process and expand high performance computing capability. The study result of this article can help scientific research institutions having similar needs to follow the hardware settings and software configurations tested in the article to construct private cloud computing platform by themselves, so as to realize greater development and progress of informatization and high performance computing.
