Although it decreases the communication cost for our life that the developing network communications and the frequent Internet applications, it also improves security requirements of information transfer. The traditional text encryption technologies are not universal considering strong correlation between pixels of images. Recently, numerous scholars are trying to employ various chaotic maps and complicated designs to improve the efficiency of algorithms, but most of them ignore relations between the chaotic systems and encryption process. So we have proposed some chaotic image encryption algorithms based on the bit distribution and classical pseudo random rules:(1) A color image encryption based on heterogenerous bit-permutation and correlated chaos is proposed. Considering the non-uniform distribution for the bit information, different bits for one pixel are permuted by different permutation strategy, and reconstruct bit planes as permuted images. The correlation between chaotic systems is introduced in parameter initialization process, which not only gives a new way for initialization, but also improves the proposed algortihm's security.(2) Based on the randomness of single node's walk, a chaotic image encryption using random walk strategy is put forward. One simple chaotic map is used to simulate random walk process for the flag matrix, which is employed to disturb the permutation sequence and embed some pseudo-random weights into encryption process, so that the permutation effects are enhanced. The expanded XOR operation is introduced to diffuse pixel elements for cipher images. It is simple enough and can be implemented easily, the simulation and analysis has proved its efficiency and abilities to resist different attacks.(3) An image encryption algorithm based on genetic recombination and hyper chaotic system is given. The traditional DNA encoding transformation is discarded, the proposed algorithm reconstruct key streams by genetic random recombination rule for realization of key streams feedback mechanism, and genetic exchange recombination rule is used to exchange bit information for information exchanges. The introduction of hyper chaotic systems not only avoid the repeat using of simple chaotic maps, but expand the proposed algorithm's key space.
