| Comparing to traditional TV, no matter hardware or software in Smart TV has become more complicated due to adding internet browsing, audio and video files playing and supporting downloading various APPs besides usages. How to ensure smart TV to be humanized and welcomed by users and no bugs in software is a critical problem. To develop smart TV simulation platform is intended to solve these problems. One is to simulate system requirement visually to help system engineers to find design problems at product planning stage and this simulation platform can support later system test to find system logic bugs.Expanded finite state machine (FSM) is adopted to model smart TV and simulation. Users can operate the virtual smart TV by virtual remote controller, keyboard and mouse to find UI problems and dehumanization designs. And STM (State Transition Matrix) is used to model the expanded FSM. Herein, STM is a two dimension matrix, the first row is state line and column is event line. For a cell in the middle of the matrix, it means a series of actions when an event occurs for a certain state. A STM supports nest modeling, it means that a small cell in a STM can be a new STM. STM nest modeling can decrease STM modeling difficulties. AUTOSTAR is introduced to model the smart TV, and AUTOSTAR provides VIP interface to support UI design with VB.Virtual controller and virtual keyboard are implemented with C# and smart TV is development with AUTOSTAR. AUTOSTAR is a kind of powerful embedded software CASE tool, which can model TV logics conveniently and improve modeling efficiency greatly. Finally a series of black test is done for total system, up to one hundred test cases are used to activate the system, and all test data are inputted into virtual smart TV via virtual remote controller, virtual keyboard and virtual mouse. The virtual test simulation platform has got applications in several TV companies in China. |
