Network virtualization is a key technology for the future of the network, which aims to overcome the difficulties from changing the rigid network architecture. Network virtualization technology creates a virtual network on substrate newwork through virtual resource embedding algorithm to complete a specific application, optimize business-oriented network layout, reduce cost of resources of entire physical network and improve the user experience. For virtual resource embedding algorithm on network virtualization, this paper has mainly studied the following three aspects:(1) Hausdorff distance-based resource embedding algorithm is proposed. The Hausdorff distance describing the similarity of two objects with multiple attributes, is introduced during the process of embedding to express the similarity of virtual and physical nodes. Then based on Hausdorff distance, resource embedding algorithm is proposed, which includes two processes, i.e., virtual node ranking based on approaching node and Hausdorff distance-based embedding. On conditions of such constraints as processing capacity and geolocation of the nodes, the proposed algorithm simultaneously implements the embedding considering the network topology and other attributes. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has a significant role in reducing cost of underlying physical resources, improving success rate of virtual network embedding and so on.(2) Dynamic cluster-based scheme of fast handoff on Wireless Mess Network(WMN) virtualization is proposed. This scheme creates a dynamic cluster composing of all access points in vicinity of Mesh Client(MC). Access points in dynamic cluster continuously monitor and share the quality of both the access link and the routing path in mesh backhul to coordinate which of them should serve the MC, thus the entire WMN is seen as a single vitrtual access point from the MC's perspective.Without modifying the device driver, and fast handoff is avhieved. Metrics of overall goodput, average end-to-end airtime and packet loss rate are used to measure the network performance; the results reveal that, the proposed scheme can achieve significntly higher performance than the RSSI-based scheme.(3) An experimental verfication system based on WMN virtual resource embedding is designed and implemented, where node and link information are monitored and stored to make routing decisions for mesh access point(MAP), then video transmission is taken as an example on a fully deployed mesh work. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of improving video transmission rate and enhancing user experience. Finally, conclusions are given and the next work of our research is presented.
