In recent years, research and analysis of biochemical reagent, single cells, biological macromolecules and tissues based on the advanced sensor system and trace samples using label-free and non-invasive analytical techniques are being attracting more and more experts and scholars' serious concerns. Meantime, research of the relevant RF analytical system and lab on-chip is being on the cutting edge of technologies, and development of network analyzer integrated on-chip as functional circuit of the lab on-chip has become the focus of the industry.The current research status of the six-port network analyzer and coplanar waveguide band pass filters on-chip and Si-based integrated circuits in the sub-millimeter wave band at home and abroad are summarized by sorting out and analyzing of the relevant literatures in this paper. The circuit architecture of a six-port network analyzer based on multiplying chain applicable to sub-millimeter wave band of 325 ~ 500 GHz is proposed, moreover, analysis of the system is performed to extract the relevant specifications of each modular circuit. Coplanar waveguide and its some kinds of discontinuities in TSMC 90 nm CMOS technology are introduced and analyzed as well, and the corresponding characteristics of the structures versus variations of the geometries are summarized. Aiming at the suppression of clutter and harmonic components unneeded from multiplying chain, two kinds of band pass filters realized by double parallel short stubs and also both double parallel short and open stubs are mainly designed and analyzed in details. And finally, broadband active millimeter wave frequency doubler for doubling frequencies at first stage of the chain are introduced and analyzed. All the key integrated circuits researched in theory and simulated in this paper reach an agreement with the expected technical specifications and are of great value for the construction of the whole system of six-port network analyzer on-chip in the sub-millimeter wave band.
