Green laser because of its excellent stability characteristics, such as transmission,direction, and long fluorescence lifetime and so on, are widely applied in communication, laser therapy, color display and many other fields. With the growing demand of green light in various fields, explore new type, high efficiency and low cost green laser light source becomes a hot spot in recent years. In this thesis, analyze Er ion-doped up-conversion green laser light source from the theoretical and experimental levels.Theory, the various of the rare earth ions and the matrix materials were compares and analyzed for the selection of experiment materials, to confirm the up-conversion advantages of Er:YAP crystal.Research on the up-conversion luminescence process mechanism, then detailed analysis the characteristic of crystal material. For Er:YAP crystal absorption and fluorescence properties were studied, achieved the preliminary assessment of the crystal luminous performance, to determine the suitable pump parameters and the emission wavelength for green up-conversion laser output. According to Er: YAP crystal up-conversion luminescence mechanism of absorption and fluorescence parameters, to establish the rate equation theory. Research the relation of laser cavity parameters, a fit cavity for the experiment is designed, all of these provide strong theoretical support for Er:YAP crystal to achieve the green up-conversion light.Experiments, according to the theoretical research and experimental requirements, the selection of appropriate optical devices and components to build optical structure in the Er:YAP crystal transformation on green laser experiment. The parameters of pump sources were deeply studied which made effect on the characteristics of green up-conversion output light. Choose output center wavelength of 980 nm and 795 nm and 800 nm pump sources respectively for crystal pumping,further determine the appropriate pump wavelength. In addition, the environmenttemperature also have an impact on the green up-conversion output light, therefore the experiment carried under the condition of low temperature and room temperature respectively, comparing the result of the experiment data, it is concluded that the appropriate temperature for higher efficient and better performance of Er:YAP crystal in aspect of green up-conversion output light. According with certain pump parameters and temperature to build the cavity, obtained the amplification phenomenon of Er:YAP up-conversion laser.
