Research On Chinese Complex Noun Phrase Translation Extraction Based On Multi-strategy

Noun phrases are widely used and play an important role in the sentences. Noun phrase translation extraction will greatly offer help and reference for sentence understanding. Based on the analysis of the structure of noun phrase, this paper proposes a concept of complex noun phrase. Noun phrase translation extraction is significant and valuable for cross-language retrieval, machine translation and other applications.Based on the advantages of current machine translation methods, this paper proposes a multi-strategy method to obtain the translation of noun phrases. Since the bilingual example corpus is a necessary prerequisite for example-based machine translation, this paper constructed the bilingual example corpus by manual and automatic methods. In addition, this paper created the translation templates for pattern based phrase translation extraction. Finally this paper realized Chinese complex noun phrase recognition and translation extraction, which improved the translation quality comparing to the single translation method. The main work includes the following aspects:Firstly, this paper constructed the bilingual phrase library which will provide the example corpus for example-based machine translation. This paper proposed manual and automatic methods to accomplish the bilingual phrase library which contains 230,000 bilingual phrase pairs. In the process of manual construction, this paper proposed an annotation scheme adapting for Chinese complex noun phrases.Secondly, this paper created the translation template. By analyzing the phrase pairs in bilingual phrase corpus, this paper manually created 200 templates which are prepared for pattern based phrase translation extraction.Thirdly, this paper accomplished Chinese complex noun phrase translation extraction.Integrated advantages of statistical machine translation, example-based machine translation and pattern-based machine translation in phrase translation extraction, this paper proposed a Chinese complex noun phrase translation extraction method based on multi-strategy.The experimental results show the phrase translation obtained from phrase translationextraction method based on multi-strategy improved bleu by 3.8% in contrast with the single translation method...
