Sb2O3, SnO2 and Bi2O3 were several important metal oxide semiconductor materials. They could be used as photocatalyst, lithium battery cathode material and so on. The ultrasound assisted ball milling was developed by our laboratory for the synthesis of nano materials. The synthetic method was simple with high purity and production efficiency of the synthetic products, which had a good prospect of industrialization. In this paper, the research was carried out on the metal oxide nanopowders of Sb2O3, SnO2 and Bi2O3 prepared by ultrasound assisted acid solution ball milling. The effects of the different liquid medium?acetic acid solution, pure water, ethanol solution? on the synthesis of nanoparticles' phases were discussed.Furthermore, the effects of the ultrasonic frequency and concentration of acetic acid on the synthesis of nanoparticles were discussed, too. The as-prepared products were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, TEM. What's more, photocatalytic performances of SnO2 and Bi2O3 nanoparticles were tested. The electrochemical properties of SnO2 nanoparticles were tested.?1? Cubic Sb2O3, SnO2 with rutile phase and monoclinic Bi2O3 nanopowders were prepared by ultrasound assisted acetic acid solution ball milling, whose average size was 20, 20, 10 nm, respectively.?2? Sb2O3 could be synthesized in acetic acid solution milled 20 h, the Sb2O3 still couldn't be synthesized even milled 36 h in water and ethanol solution; the higher the concentration of acetic acid was, the faster the reaction rate was; the growth rate of reaction rate was decreased with the increasing of the acetic acid concentration.SnO2 could be synthesized in acetic acid solution milled 21 h, the SnO2 still couldn't be synthesized even milled 40 h in water and ethanol solution; the higher the concentration of acetic acid was, the faster the reaction rate was; the ultrasonic frequency lower was, the faster the reaction rate was.?3? The Sb+3Sb+5O4 was synthesized by the as-prepared Sb2O3 nanoparticles heat-treated with heat preservation at 400 ? for 4 h. The documents reporting about this phase were very few.?4? The experimental results of photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange about SnO2 and Bi2O3 showed that SnO2 nanoparticles have good photocatalytic performance; Bi2O3 nanoparticles had some photocatalytic performance.?5? The experimental results of electrochemical properties about SnO2 nanometer powder showed that the SnO2 nanopowders obtained in the 25% acetic acid solution had the best electrochemical properties among the SnO2 obtained in the three kinds of acetic acid solution. Its specific capacity of first charge and discharge was high, the specific capacity after 25 times per cycle was highest, the coulomb efficiency was higher, the peak shape of cyclic voltammetric curve was the sharpest, the stability of electrochemical properties is the best.
