This paper mainly analyses the characteristics of Chinese curriculum under the management system of Confucius Institute in Aveiro University,the development of Chinese teaching and the results of teaching and sums up the role played by the Confucius Institutes in overseas Chinese teaching activities.By summarising the characteristics of the group(students and teachers)currently involved in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language in Portugal,this paper evaluates the particularities of Chinese teaching in Portuguese primary schools.This paper puts forward constructive teaching suggestions for the Chinese teaching project of Confucius Institute in Aveiro University and provides feasible data information to promote the development of the teaching management work.The author takes the elementary school Chinese teaching project of the Confucius Institute of Aveiro University in Portugal as the object of the investigation and conducts a comprehensive survey of the project in terms of teaching scale,student population,teacher preparation,classroom teaching,teaching effect,feedback from the assistant staff and management of Confucius Institute.We adopted qualitative and quantitative research methods,and participated in observations,questionnaires,field interviews,and other methods to collect data and information for each part of the teaching system,so as to ensure objective and accurate investigation results.Our survey mainly focuses on the same height of language and culture and traces its cultural connotations at the same time in language teaching.The study of culture teaching in TCFL has been getting more and more attention by Chinese foreign language teaching since the 1980 s.Therefore,most of the teaching methods described in this paper come from the data and information collection of practical teaching class,and it is also the closest to the current actual situation of Chinese language teaching in Portuguese primary schools.
