Research On The Discipline Competitiveness Based On SWOT Model

In the context of the State Council called for the construction of the world's leading universities and the first class disciplines,S university shoulder the mission of training first-class talents in the field of Petrochemical Science,however,the cultivation of firstclass talents requires the construction of the first class discipline.How to promote the construction of the first class discipline? The phenomenon that universities cannot correctly understand the strength of their own discipline,there have been problems such as the blindness of the subject construction,the fault of the academic talent and the lack of scientific innovation.To solve these problems,first of all,it is necessary to clarify the relative competitiveness of University's own subjects.This study attempts to construct based on the SWOT model of the disciplinary competitiveness theory framework,and on this basis on the competitiveness of the two universities subject for analysis and benchmarking analysis.The relative output and relative influence of the horizontal and vertical coordinates of the SWOT model is constructed in this study,And this study is based on web of Science(SCI),web of science,CNKI database and so forth,subject to the productivity of the discipline,the influence of the discipline,the development of the discipline,the innovation force of the four first level index system,web of science documents,times cited,high impact paper,highly cited researchers,highly cited papers share,first number of authors,highly cited scientists age,hot papers,invention patent nine two level index system in order to research descriptive analysis of the competitiveness of subjects.This study uses the SWOT analysis method,literature analysis method,statistical analysis method,which combines the method of S university,H university discipline competitiveness analysis and benchmarking analysis,on the one hand,in order to Understand the specific circumstances of the two campus discipline productivity power,discipline influence power,discipline development power and discipline innovation power,on the other hand,it can clearly demonstrate the strength of each of the two campuses in the discipline,to provide quantification of the correct orientation of the discipline construction of S university.The main conclusions of this study are as follows: in the first place,based on the SWOT model of the S university discipline competitiveness analysis,the Strengths disciplines have geology,chemistry and engineering,the Opportunities disciplines has materials science,the Weaknesses disciplines have math,computer and physics.In another,based on the SWOT model of the H university discipline competitiveness analysis,the Strengths disciplines have chemistry and engineering,the Opportunities disciplines have materials science and physics,the Weaknesses disciplines have computer science and math,the threats disciplines have geology.what's more,based on the SWOT model of the S university and H university analysis of discipline competitiveness benchmarking,on the one hand,we can see that S university higher than the H university in chemistry,engineering,geology from the point of view of relative output,S university is lower than the H university in physics,mathematics,computer science and materials science from the point of view of relative output.On the other hand,from the perspective of relative influence,S university higher than the H university in chemistry,engineering,mathematics,computer science,materials science,S university is lower than the H university in geology.
