| Writing,as one language output skill,not only reflects learners’ ability to acquire and process language information,but also reflects the cognition and expressive ability of language.However,as an essential part in teaching,there are numerous problems in traditional English writing teaching,which not only confine the students’ creativity but also weaken their interests and confidences in English writing.At this moment,how to effectively stimulate students’ interest in writing and improve students’ English writing ability has always been the concern and attention of foreign language educators.In order to stimulate learners’ motivation and interest in English writing and improve students’ English writing skill,this thesis will introduce a new teaching model-anchored instruction model,which was put forward by John Bransford is under the leadership of the Cognition and Technology Group at Vanderbilt.The aims of this thesis are to explore what the effect of anchored instruction model on English writing teaching in senior high school and to explore the following two questions through research:1.What is the effect of anchored instruction model on the students’ English writing proficiency in senior school?2.What is the change of students’ attitude towards English writing under guidance of anchored instruction model?Therefore,the researcher performed an experiment of applying anchored.instruction model to English writing teaching in a senior high school.The study lasted three months,that is,from September 2017 to December 2017.The experimental class and control class are randomly selected in Grade One from a senior high school in Shenyang.In order to find out the effects of anchored instruction model,three instruments are employed in the research: questionnaires,tests and an interview.The data of this experiment are analyzed by software SPSS 22.0.The comparison of the test results of experimental class and control class shows that the scores of experimental class in post-test were better than that of control class.Besides,through the data analysis of the questionnaire and interview,anchored instruction model enables students to be interested in writing and ultimately achieves the final goal of promoting students’ output proficiency of language.At the same time,students’ confidence in English writing is enhanced. |
