Abstract/Summary:
In response to "The Outline of the National Medium-&Long-term Educational Reform and Developme,nt Plan(2010-2020)",and in order to implement the requirements of "The Proposals of the 13th Five-year Formulation on National Economic and Social Development by CPC Central Committee",to improve the quality of education,to promote the balanced development of compulsory education and to make the spread of high school education,the government of Fujian Province put forward "The 13th Five-year Formulation on Education in the Province of Fujian" in 2016,demanding"a provincial unified high school entrance examinations on Chinese,math,English and other subjects from the year of 2017".For years,the nine main cities in Fujian Province owned propositions on high school entrance examination of math,therefore,cities differ greatly in math teaching,learning and testing.In order to clarify the specific differences in math education among different cities,to discover the characteristics in math high school entrance examinations of different cities,to seek for the strategies of the provincial unified high school entrance examination on math,and to provide an understructure for the provincial unified testing policy,this study has an analysis on the examination instructions,papers and results of different cities by using questionnaires.In addition,with math problem types chosen from high school entrance examinations of the past three years from various cities over Fujian,this study covers the differences,characteristics and values of math examinations.Thus,some inspiring thoughts and practical suggestions are made to offer a reference for the provincial unified high school entrance examinations on math.This research paper consists of five parts as followed:The part of introduction reviews some related studies on math high school entrance examination carried out by mathematics educators.Since the studies of this type are actually few,this part points out the necessity of strategic studies in the transforming process from "regional autonomous examination" to "provincial unified examination ".The first chapter contains the results of a questionnaire surveying on-job math teachers from junior high schools of nine main cities over the province and an analysis on the specific differences among cities in math teaching,learning and examination.The second chapter makes comparisons among different cities on instruction,papers and results of math high school entrance examination,to get an access to their differences in detail from the microscopic perspective.The third chapter comments on the function problems,the word problems,the innovation problems as well as the last problems(usually the most difficult and complicated problems)from math examination papers from the nine main cities,including their testing purposes and their potential value,to put forward some testing suggestions on the provincial unified math examination.The fourth chapter covers some testing ideas and experience of math examinations home and abroad,which inspire the author’s thinking and suggestions about math testing in Fujian’s provincial high school entrance examinations.The fifth chapter contains the conclusions and suggestions of this study.
