Critical thinking is a kind of process thinking.The purport of critical thinking is to call for a kind of incredulous,independent and rational spirit.Critical thinking sticks to think independently.It plays an important role in promoting students’ lifelong development.Historical material teaching is a kind of teaching methods that draws more and more attention in the 21 st century.They make students face challenge like new materials,new situation and new problems to cultivate the students’ critical thinking.It provides a kind of ideal teaching method to cultivate the students’ critical thinking.For this,it introduces some concepts about critical thinking from theoretical level.Critical thinking includes two parts: critical thinking spirit and critical thinking skills.From the practical level,writer learns about the current situation of historical material teaching and the education of critical thinking and puts forward the teaching proposal and matters needing attention combined with specific case for teachers.The advice is given from different views including the design of historical data,questions and how to evaluate the conclusion.
