| The proportion of checking on words ascending in senior high stage through study on Regular Senior High English Course Standard(Experimental Version)(Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press,2004)and questions of National College Entrance Examination(NCEE)of very provinces,according to writer.Students are required to learn compulsory words and expressions as well as words and expressions beyond their text book,therefore,words teaching shall be certain important part in senior high class.How to memorize words and expressions efficiently is the main difficulty which facing to both teachers and students now.Mechanically word-memorizing is no longer approved by major teachers and student now.Cramming method has lost its popularity among students which causing learn interest loss and deemed as burden by some,and tired of this language,therefore,an effective method shall be put up promptly to improve word teaching level.The paper aims at researching on how to perform English word teaching under guidance of Contextual Theory,enabling students in senior high to get a comprehensive command of meanings and usage for words and expressions,solving the problems occurred in teaching process and giving word teaching solutions by introducing contextual theory.The paper outlines concept of Contextual Theory,elaborates the current research status both at home and abroad,provides relevant theory basis.The author considers the Contextual Theory into and “Non-Language Context Application”.The necessity and feasibility has been drawn in the process of exploring the Contextual Theory teaching which can be a support for a relative comprehensive and complete teaching method for English teacher where English language teaching in words and expressions of senior high involved.The author learns the current condition of English words and expressions teaching by using Contextual Theory in senior high and the commanding status of student.Contextual Theory plays an important role in both teaching and learning words and expressions for teacher and student,which can improve efficiency of teaching and learning whereas some advice also discovered by author based on the research summary.The advice which will be of great significance for teaching practice further. |
