In order to promote the initiative of students in chemistry learning,first-line teachers have carried out the research in the class from different perspectives.The content of the inquiry is based on the teaching material,which is not only one of the key indicators for teaching and learning,but also the most important learning tool used in class.Therefore,a comparative analysis of different teaching materials is beneficial to carry out the inquiry teaching,so that we can choose the most appropriate teaching content in order to motivate the development of students' ability.This essay conducts data statistics and comparison analysis among PEP,Shandong Education Press,and Shanghai Education version from the following five perspectives: the account of activities,the text presentation form,the activity type,the openness level,and the exploration of thinking level.The features of the activity design are as follows:PEP whose activities are plentiful and flexible,enriches the actual teaching design and offers a lot of tips to help students with their activities.There are various types of text display,which fit the students' learning situation and make it easier for students to understand/comprehend and use.The activity setting not only takes the training of the experimental skills into account,but also emphasizes the exercise of students' communication ability and teamwork.It is mostly based on the low degree of openness,which reduces the students' academic burden,and meanwhile sets up some experiments of high levels of openness,which helps to develop their own thinking and creation level in the process of thinking.PEP takes students' primary chemistry level into full consideration,whose question design is designing.Its suggestive questions account for a great proportion,So that students can quickly define the goal through the question.Shandong version,with moderate activities,is rich and colorful in text display.The text focuses on helping students to understand the activities' key points,especially in presenting the micro world,which contributes to the expansion of students' thought after entering the high school,strengthen the concept of Chemical core for students.The choice of pictures is based on the physical and experimental devices of students' lives.So that students will have a cordial feeling.Meanwhile,the pictures are rich incolor,which is more likely to attract the attention of students.The number of investigation and inquiry activities is obviously larger than the other two versions,which highlights the cultivation of students' ability to express and communicate.The level of activity settings is very high,which is the only version with level-five activity setting among these three versions that promotes positive inquiry ability.Shanghai Edition is moderate in activity quantity,some of which are arranged in extracurricular small experiments,so that students can try to solve problems found in daily life with knowledge learned in class.In order to help the entry-level students master the basic skills of experiment,a large number of actual pictures are used to reproduce the experimental process,which can help students make comparison with their own and find out the differences.Among the three versions,Shanghai edition raises the most open-ended questions,which encourages students to express their views and opinions freely without the only one standard answer restriction.
