| With the development of the curriculum reform,cultivating students’ intercultural communicative competence has become one of the main English teaching goals of different school stages.English learning in high school,which is the golden period of learning English,plays an important role in college admission decisions.As a result,English grade is still put in the first place in daily English teaching.Although the cultivation of intercultural communicative competence has been a hot topic in recent years,the situation of being neglected has not changed.According to the regulations of cultivation of intercultural communicative competence in the new curriculum standard,this thesis adopting listening and speaking lesson which is most closely linked to communication,focuses on the cultivation of high school students’ intercultural communicative competence,and presents new teaching strategies by investigation and experimental study to promote teaching practice.On the basis of vast literature and under the guidance of cultural schema theory,high and low-context culture theory and intercultural communicative competence theory,this thesis poses problems based on the research object of two selected parallel classes in grade 1 to launch a teaching experiment.The preparatory work of questionnaire survey and test,and the interview of experienced teachers,which aims to summarize the problems in previous study has been made before the experiment.It shows that most teachers and students could realize the importance of cultivation of intercultural communicative competence.They believed that this competence should be focused in daily English teaching.And students are also interested in cross culture learning.However,due to the obstacle of grades and other reality factors,the effectiveness of cultivating students’ intercultural communicative competence remains low.Aiming at the results of comprehensive analysis of the survey and test,and the requirements of new curriculum standard,this thesis properly combines cultivation of intercultural communicative competence with listening and speaking teaching,and implements listening and speaking instructional strategies which help to cultivate and improve students’ intercultural communicative competence.Strategies including cultural difference teaching method,comparative analysis of cultural scene method,multimedia movie appreciation and dubbing method and so on,are reconstructing the cultural schema which enrich students’ cross-cultural communication knowledge;laying stress on comparison of high and low context which cultivates students’ intercultural communicative awareness;transforming the teaching model of traditional listening and speaking class which improves students’ intercultural communicative competence.Carrying out original teaching activities may give students’ more chances to listen,to watch,to speak and to communicate.After the teaching experiment,a small test to the selected objects is given to prove that the proposed new strategies are feasible through comparing the results.What’s more,these strategies have a certain practical significance and reference value in the study of English teaching. |
