The new curriculum reform of high schools advocates treating students as the critical part and focusing on the differences among the individuals.In order to promote overall quality education through the comprehensive promotion of quality education,cultivate the scientific literacy of every student,there is a must for the reform of teaching and learning methods.Methods of teaching and learning contain both means of teaching and ways of learning.In the past,the traditional class teaching system is organized in unified teaching mode.This kind of class includes students of different grades and different levels of learning abilities.Therefore,it is difficult for teachers to cater for the different needs of students or prepare for all the students,causing the situation “not enough for students with high grades and too much for students with low grades”.However,this situation can just be solved by leveled teaching method,which is suitable for traditional classes with distinguish differences between students`abilities to study within the same class.This is mainly because leveled teaching method is based on the construction of classes which are made up of students of similar levels.Meanwhile,leveled teaching method has teaching or learning plans that are equal to the new curriculum and suitable for students` abilities of cognition,features comprehensive promotion of overall quality,fully development of every student`s potential and gives every student chances to experience satisfaction of study and success so as to achieve the goals of reforming.There is an organic combination in the essay between the theory of Proximal Development Zone,the theory of Optimization of Teaching Process,the theory of Mastery Learning,the theory of Motivation,the theory of Humanism Education,the theory of Multiple Intelligence and the theory of practical education in our school to understand the application of leveled teaching method applied in a certain school in Jidong by means of experimental research and questionnaire survey.In the end,I will conclude some questions that should be avoided in practical application and put up some solution suitable for the situation of our school.
