Today Learning English has been a globalization thing,how to learn English in an efficient way to improve the self-learning ability is becoming a hot spot in recently English teaching researches.This article tries to join Psychology,modern pedagogy and linguistics in a field to study the relationship between junior middle school students’ English achievements and meta-cognitive strategy.This study is based on the questionnaire surveys and tests that are finished by the students from Mei Li Middle school in Wuxi,Jiang Su province.The students from Class Two,Grade Nine were trained on the meta-cognitive strategy for sixteen weeks.Through collecting effective data,we analysis them by a software named SPSS.Then we try to find out the rules about the students’ learning ability and their achievements.The article includes two sections that are questionnaire surveys on the use meta-cognitive strategy and the relationship between meta-cognitive strategy and English achievements.The Research has the following findings:1.Meta-cognitive strategy can improve the students’ English achievements.2.During learning English,girls are used to more frequent meta-cognitive strategies than boys and their learning efficiency is higher.3.Meta-cognitive strategies can be attained through training and learning.Through the research we get some experience.As a student we should set up the consciousness of learning strategies because learning strategies are more likely to improve English achievements.If you are teachers,you must learn theories and practice about Meta-cognitive strategies.Meta-cognitive strategies should be a teaching task that is presented in lessons.
