Existential Phenomenological Curriculum Theory is one of the most important theory genre of reconceptualist curriculum paradgim in America.William.F.Pinar,M.R.Grumet,D.Heubner,ect are representatives of the phenomenological curriculum theory genre.Maxine·Greene(1917-2014)is one of important representatives in existential phenomenological curriculum theory genre.According to her life experience,Phenomenology,Existentialism and Psychoanalysis,she developed the existential phenomenological curriculum theory.This essay aims to systematize her curriculum theory and promote the curriculum innovation of our country's basal education by studying the existential phenomenological curriculum theory of Maxine·Greene.There are five parts of the essay:Part ?:This part is the introduction.The introduction introduces the background,objectives,significance,research methods of the study.Part ?:This part is the form of Maxine·Greene's existential phenomenological curriculum theory,introducing the biography of Maxine·Greene and theoretical bases in detail in order to better understanding the existential phenomenological curriculum theory of Maxine·Greene.Part ?:This part introduces the main viewpoints of Maxine·Greene's existential phenomenological Curriculum Theory,mainly containing the essence of curriculum,the objective of curriculum,the curriculum content,the implementation of curriculum,the Curriculum evaluation.Firstly,Maxine·Greene,about the essence of curriculum,believes it is the ways to help students improve their self-consciousness.Secondly,Basing on the criticizing of traditional objective of curriculum,Maxine·Greene thinks that the objective of curriculum is to promote students' wide-awakeness.Thirdly,Maxine·Greene points out that traditional curriculum content mainly contains the knowledge of natural and science which are far from students' life experience.As a result,they dislike the curriculum content and are in the depressive state.So she advocates that the curriculum content should be life characteristic,various and artistic connotation system.Fourthly,Maxine·Greene opposes that teachers are considered as the “Teacher Man” and students are considered as the “learning machine”.She claims that the implementation of curriculum is a process that benefits teachers as well as students.Last,Maxine·Greene doesn't endorse the paper and pencil tests.She believes that curriculum evaluation should be a multiple evaluation System for students' wide-awakeness.Part ?:In this part,we makes some comments on the existential phenomenological curriculum theory of Maxine·Greene.This part is about the value and some inadequacies of the existential phenomenological curriculum theory of Maxine·Greene.Part ?:The last part points out that the existential phenomenological Curriculum Theory of Maxine·Greene offers a unique vision and methodology for our curriculum research and explores the enlightenment.Her theory brings to the curriculum reform in the field of basic education in our country at least six aspects,such as :1.focus on students' real life;2.carry out multicultural curriculum;3.cultivate students' critical consciousness;4.develop conversational?inter-subjective and critical teaching methods;5.pay attention to arts and humanities curricula;6.rebuild teachers role:teacher as stranger.
