Sinceresearch about critical thinking arises,it has been the hotresearch topic for educators and received attention from all Walksof life.It has been obviously put forward from the objectivesp art of The ordinary high school mathematics curriculum standards(experimental)curriculum thatin the teaching process attention should be paid to developing students ' critical thinking.According to the development of critical thinking and research perspective,research about high school mainly focus on critical thinking and correlation study of the characteristics of the various disciplines,however,the study of relationship between critical thinking and mathematics scores is not mentioned.Study on correlation between criticalthinking and math scores of high school students is to explore the feasibilityand necessity of integrating critical thinking in the teaching ofmathematics.The research object is from the seniors of a provincial-level demonstration high school,who have already completed all new mathematical knowledge before the test begins.Four classes are selected,two of which are from liberal arts classes and the other Twoof which are from science cl asses.The total number of effective subjects is 260,which include 124 students in science Classand 136 liberal arts students.The number of boys is 124 and g irls 136.This research takes the questionnaire to test high school st udents ' critical thinking while using mathematics questions in five modules of high school sequences,functions,geometry,Conic sections,probability and statistics to test high school students' mathematical achievement.Then the Pearson product-moment correlation is applied to test criticalthinking as well as all dimensions of critical thought andthe relativity between the performance of the mo dule.The study revealed that:(1)the performance of high school students' critical thinking is mostly contradictory;(2)the correlation between critical thinking and academic achievement in mathematics of senior high school students is significant;(3)the correlation between critical thinking and the scores between science and art students' mathematics achievement is significant;(4)the relationship between critical thinking and the scores betweenmales and females in math is significant;(5)correlation between each dimension of critical thinking and the scores of students of different levels of each module is significant,andcorrelation between scores of each module and critical thinking and each dimension of critical thinking is positive.Therefore,in the classroom teaching,it may be by creating a domestic and relaxing learning atmosphere that students' ability of independent thinking and problem analysis will be cultured.By It is also suggested that teachers should adopt various teaching styles,encourage students to solvethe problems from different angles.The construction of the mind map will train students' ability of being systematic.As to the class questions,teachers should begin with easy ones to difficult ones,as a result of cultivating students' confidence in learning.Students should play the main role and muc h attention should be paid to a given problem so as to cultivate students' thirst for knowledge.
