Geographical reasoning ability is an important part of the current high school geography education,geography that theory and practice plays an important role in promoting the development of students' geographical reasoning ability on the formation of students' knowledge structure and further development of geography.To this end,this study selected the development of the status quo of high school students' reasoning ability to make a meaningful attempt to reveal the current situation of the development of senior high school students' geographical reasoning ability and the differences.By reading the literature,interviews,and prediction,reference and draw lessons from previous research,on the basis of this foundation,the "self test" high school geography reasoning ability,study of senior high school students,three high school students geographical reasoning ability development,statistical results show that:(1)students in the form of geography the habit of reasoning and practical application in general is weak,leading students in geography to improve the performance of more difficult.(2)the students in the autonomous inquiry classroom full of expectations,hoping to get more autonomy in the process of geography learning,rather than simply the teacher's".(3)the overall level of the development of the students' geographical reasoning is low,which has some obstacles to the realization of students' geographical achievement and geographical ability.(4)there are differences in the development of the students' geographical reasoning,which are reflected in the gender,grade and the types of geographical reasoning.The status of research and development on geographical reasoning based on the cultivation of students' geographical reasoning ability raises the suggestion,that in the process of cultivating geographical reasoning should do the following:(1)to cultivate students' geographical reasoning habits.(2)to create a harmonious classroom atmosphere to encourage students to explore independently.(3)improve the level of students' geographical reasoning through self construction.(4)according to the law of students' physical and mental development.
