“Reading before class” is an important part of the current history textbook.Seting “Reading before class” are very helpful for teachers? education and student?s learning,it?s role should not be underestimated.Meanwhile,it?s also an system engineering for compile ”reading before class”,because it?s not only concerns the curriculum reform of history,but also has a major impact on long-term development of history teaching.The position of “reading before class” can been realized by frontline teachers due to the author?s investigation,and many teachers can use “reading before class” based on the content of course,students situation and teachers? teaching methods already.But the element that limit the use of “reading before class” still exists,like the level of textbook writing,teachers ignore and so on.This research are doing for the using of “reading before class”,analyzing the problem and the rule during use,providing a basis of how to rational use of “reading before class”.Meanwhile,providing references for the copyreader of history textbook.The article strats with stating the process of construction,the present situation and its effect on teaching;then,according to the questionnaire,analyzing the usage and the view of teachers and students to “reading before class”,and diagnose their cause;finally,according to the results of investigation providing useful guidelines.At this point though,compile “reading before class” should consider many factors such as combine the development of the discipline of history with teachers and students,increase characteristic like scientificity,readability,pertinence and so on,make contributions to the reform of history textbook and education.
