Decision on Accelerating Ethnic Education,promulgated by the State Council,puts forward exact requirements for ethnic education's new development and span.In the thirty-first,it point out that “National Institute for Ethnic Education should construct transregional ethnic educational platforms,make overall plans,guide fully and organize and carry out ethnic great theories and policy researches.”Based on literature,survey test method,verbal report method,group interview,job survey,classroom observation,comparative analysis and case study,this research studies two questions.Firstly,have a test named Students' Ability of Multiple Representation among seventh grade students in WD Ethnic Middle School in Yunnan Province to know about Yi students' mathematical representation in mathematical problem solving.Then,analyze Yi students' type,feature and corresponding of level mathematical representation by questionnaire survey,case study and teaching case study.The purpose is to discuss how to improve Yi students' mathematical representation and mathematical thinking ability and problem solving ability,under the perspective of representation.The conclusion includes research conclusions and case study and teaching case study conclusions.Research conclusions and case study and teaching case study conclusions are aimed at the seventh grade Yi students,who prefer using symbolic representation to solve math problems,but their mathematical external representation develops unbalance;facing with different mathematical problems,representation type and level are quite different among seventh grade Yi students;representation types and levels are not obvious between Yi male and female students in solving mathematical problems.Moreover,seventh grade Yi students' mathematical representation of mathematical problem solving and mathematical score are positive correlation.That is to say,the higher the mathematical representation is,the higher the score is.For teaching case study,all above will form teaching suggestions and study strategies.For example,teaching suggestions are to combine school's feature,to focus on students' process of self-study and knowledge generation;to emphasize students' thinking habits in teaching;to combine specific teaching activities with multi-representation in teaching;to make proper use of multimedia to assist teaching;to integrate mathematical sources in Yi culture;to promote communication between teachers and students,between good students and weak students to improve their autonomous learning.Study suggestions are to form good mathematical study habit and character;to intensify self-management ability;to stimulate study interest;to tamp mathematical knowledge to avoid mathematical knowledge chain break;to pay attention to formal expression of mathematical study and study of mathematical thinking method.
