With the development of language teaching research,more and more linguistics realized the importance of lexical teaching.The New English Curriculum Standards for Senior High School also have clear stipulations for lexical teaching.However,many problems still exist in lexical teaching in senior high school.As one of the outcomes of new technology,corpus provides new ways and angles for lexical teaching,with its massive information,quick index and authentic context.Therefore,this research combined the corpus and lexical teaching from the empirical perspective,based on the lexical chunk theory,data-driven theory and the input hypothesis.The main purpose of this research is to verify the effectiveness of corpus-based lexical teaching,so as to find an effective way for lexical teaching.The objects of this experiment are students chosen from two parallel classes in Shi Quan senior high school,and the experiment lasted about one semester.Class 1 was named experimental class(EC)in which students learn vocabulary under corpus-based teaching method while in class 2,the control class(CC),students learn vocabulary under traditional teaching method.After the experiment and students in EC also had questionnaire after the experiment,the two classes received the vocabulary test to see whether the corpus-based lexical teaching affects students' vocabulary size test and the depth of vocabulary.Finally,the data was collected and analyzed through SPSS.It can be seen from the data the experimental class performs better than the controlled class no matter in vocabulary score or in vocabulary size and the depth of vocabulary,which promotes students' comprehensive ability at the same time.The results also show that corpus-based lexical teaching can arouse students' interest in learning,and enhance students' autonomous learning ability.It can be drawn from the analysis that the corpus-based lexical teaching can improve the efficiency of lexical teaching.But in actual operation,students' actual situation should be taken into consideration and its recourses should be made rational use of.
