| English writing is an important subject of English teaching.New Compulsory Education English Curriculum Standard in 2011 Edition pointed out that process of writing usually contents pre-writing,while-writing,and post-writing.At present,many English teachers are still inclined to product-oriented teaching method,which makes the students tired of writing and the teacher tired of correcting.Compared with the process-oriented writing teaching method,the disadvantage of product-oriented mainly lies in that lacks the stage of preparation.This paper will discuss on the base of two questions :(1)Whether the quick writing could reduce the writing anxiety;(2)Whether the quick writing could promote the students’ writing ability.The study will apply Y-S Cheng’s Second Language Writing Anxiety Inventory(SLWAI)to examine the students’ writing anxiety and writing tests to examine the level of the students’ writing ability.At the same time,it will apply the method of qualitative and quantitative research to analyze the influence of quick writing on the writing anxiety and on their writing ability.The subjects of the study are the 110 students of two classes in Grade two in Yan’an senior high school,Yan’an City,Shannxi Province.Before the experiment,students of the two classes accepted the test of English writing anxiety and their writing scores were recorded.The results showed that there were no significant differences in both of the two classes in terms of the two above-mentioned aspects.And then they were randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group.The experiment lasted for 12 weeks.Quick Write Approach was applied to the experimental group,while the traditional writing method was used in the control group.Students in experimental group were required to complete a writing task at even weeks.Control group wrote a 120-word essay every week,marked in the traditional way.After the experiment,two classes were tested with the English Writing Anxiety Scale and writing test again,and finally,social science statistical software SPSS22.0 was adopted to analyze the data.The results showed that:(1)Quick Write Approach effectively alleviated high school students’ English writing anxiety;(2)Quick Write Approach significantly improved high school students’ English writing ability. |
