Symbols And Signs:A Study On The Door Culture Of The Labrang Monastery

On the basis of careful and in-depth study of the doors of the Labrang Monastery,and extensive and deep investations among the monks of this Monastery,combined with my own knowledge of the architectural culture of Tibetan Buddhist monasteries,as well as Tibetan architectural works,Tibetology works,ethnological works and other related research results,this paper aims to get a comprehensive understanding on the door culture of Labrang monastery.This article consists of three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.Introduction: This chapter mainly introduces the research status and the significance of the topic at home and abroad to explore the feasibility of the study of the door culture of Labrang.The first chapter is divided into two sections,which mainly introduces the origin,development and formation of the doors of the Labrang Monastery architecture.The second chapter is divided into four sections.This chapter starts from the existing architectural form of Labrang monastery,to analyze the basic types and characteristics of the architectural doors of the Labrang Monastery by means of interviews,fieldwork and other methods.The third chapter includes three sections.Based on the analyses of the basic types and characteristics of the architectural doors of the Labrang Monastery,this chapter focuses on the decorative color of the door and the color of cultural implication and decorative parts.In the fourth chapter,we take the Tibetan Buddhist symbols as the core to study the symbol and modern development of the door culture ofLabrang from the perspectives of anthropology and other related disciplines.
