Vocational education is an important part of modern national education system.According to the teaching experience in a secondary vocational school,the teacher finds that the majority of students there are resistant to the traditional teaching method of lecture.After reading a number of papers concerned with the secondary vocational schools' teaching situation,the author learns that the method of lecture is common in secondary schools.It's singular teaching form leaves an impression on students that the lessons are boring and can't motivate students.Students prefer teachers to focus on students and use varying teaching methodologies so that they can have a clearer learning goal,enjoy the exploration process and have some achievements in the end of a class.Mastery Learning is characterized by when learners have the best teaching conditions and sufficient time to study,the teaching can help all the students to complete the study well.Having learned about students' needs in the class by questionnaires,the research has an overall review on the learning theories.And the results of the questionnaire show that the mastery learning theory can solve the problem that students are aimless and lack of interests in study.The expectation of this study is that Mastery Learning should be applied to the classroom teaching in secondary vocational education will be conducive to changing the passive learning,and will improve the efficiency of teaching in secondary vocational schools.Therefore,the author carries on the action research in the teaching of the C language programming course.The study takes the computer majors' C language programming lessons of grade2014 students in Nanchong Technical School as an example and it adopts action research method and survey research method.During the study,the researcher will revise and polish the designed mastery learning theory teaching method according to the changes by collecting data,which contains the learning atmosphere in the class,the accuracy of exercises,the presentation of operating a computer,teachers' teaching reflection,the interaction between students and teachers,etc.The study is divided into three times.Every time it will solve the problems found in the previous one and then apply the results to next study.And later compare these results in the next action research to figure out whether it can solve the problems concerned.Through the analysis of the changes of the various students ' activities in three action studies,the study shows that mastery learning style can effectively improve theunderachieving students' situation,enhance students' motivation and learning autonomy.
