Study On Reform Countermeasures Of University Continuing Education In Chongqing

University continuing education is an important component of higher education in China. It is an important way of universities to cultivate talents and to serve the society. Therefore, developing university continuing education is not only for making China an human resources powerful and innovation-oriented nation, but to establish a lifelong education system in China.China is a large country with different economic and culture conditions in different areas, and the western region of china generally is in a lower level. Chongqing is the only municipality directly under the Central Government in the western region, which bordering on the developed east area and the resource-rich western area. As the release of relevant policies in a new period, the strategic position and function of Chongqing highlights day by day in our country economic development.Rapid economic development will have higher demands for talents,technology, knowledge and Innovation. In this context, it is of vital practical and immediate significance to deepen the university continuing education reform in Chongqing.Starting with setting forth the theories of university continuing education, this paper plans to presents practical issues of universities in Chongqing through literature research and investigation study. The author personally went to four universities in Chongqing to do interview and investigation, which focus on three respects: first, the basis in reality for Chongqing's universities continuing education reform; second, the local social needs for university continuing education; third, the current reform implementation situation and satisfaction.This paper tries to reflect the current reform situation of university continuing education in Chongqing objectively, to analyze the problems and to raise coping measures. Using the case study of Chongqing's universities, the author hopes this paper has broached the subject and invites more attention to be given to the importance of university continuing education reform, and to provide other universities in western china with some new ideas for development and reform of university continuing education.
