Cooperative learning has become a hot issue in the teaching field at home and abroad.And the participation of students in cooperative learning classroom are receiving increasing attention.The students' participation in classroom not only affects teachers' teaching effectiveness,but also influences students learning efficiency.Active participation is the ardent pursuit of teachers.However,students' participation is much to be desired,there are many problems such as unequal participation,and passive participation.This research subjects concerning Grade 7,the author used the non-equivalent control group design which belongs to quasi-experimental designs,and carried out 15 weeks of teaching experiment in order to explore the effect of kagan structures of junior high school students participation in history classroom.The author used the modified questionnaire to research students' participation in classroom.In order to further explore the influence of kagan structures on students' intention of participation,the researchers used interviews and Classroom Observation to collect and analyze data.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:1.Kagan structures has a significant impact on the improvement of students' participation.Students' engagement and desire for participation in classroom that used Kagan structures are significantly higher than which in routine cooperative learning classroom,especially revealed in the student's behavior and cognitive participation.2.Kagan structures can effectively improve the students' desire for participation.Kagan structures' students have more opportunities to participate in classroom,and they have stronger motivation for learning and more enjoyable in the participation process.Therefore,students have more active participation in class discussions.3.Kagan structures have different effect for students' different levels.Poor students' participation and intention of participation in classroom that used Kagan structures improve markedly.Relatively speaking,which increase insignificantly in gifted students and average students.4.Kagan structures can markedly improve the poor student's participation in history classroom.Before and after the experiment of poor students exist significant differences in classroom participation,and poor students' behavior,cognitive and emotion participation after the experiment are significantly higher than which before the experiment.5.Kagan structures can dramatically improve the poor students' intention of participation.Most of the poor students change the passive participation to active participation after the experiment.The main factors that affect the students participation will be the safe and comfortable learning environment,self-efficacy of poor students and teachers' focus on poor students.
