At present,ethnic conflicts continue to occur in some area around the world,at the same time,hostile forces at home and abroad stepping up infiltration and subversion of our border areas,with a view to undermining the prosperity and stability of our multi-ethnic state,there is no doubt that these phenomena will have a strong impact on the national identity of college students,especially for minority college students.Therefore,it is of great urgency to strengthen the youth national identity in minority areas.The dissertation takes the perspective of "life course theory",and discusses the influence of the welfare provision of national education on the national identity of the uygur college students,and make policy recommendations according to it,this dissertation uses a hybrid approach of qualitative and quantitative studies,the qualitative data were obtained from 38 in-depth interviews with 5 mainland universities,the quantitative data were obtained from the survey data of 93 uygur college students in the 40 universities.The main contents of the study include four parts,first of all,this dissertation combs the concept of national identity and related theories.So as to lay a theoretical foundation for empirical research.Secondly,the dissertation takes the perspective of "life course theory",and perspective on the political socialization of uygur college students in the mainland in three stages: Pre-primary and primary school,junior high school and high school,university employment stage,we study the impact of the national education welfare supply and its main contents,quality and satisfaction on the formation of national identity of these three stages of college students,we also analyze the role of patriotic educational activities at various stages in shaping their national identity.Thirdly,we use the empirical data to analyze the specific impact of the national education welfare supply on national identity and its shortcomings.At last,this dissertation puts forward some policy suggestions on how to improve the national education welfare provision policy and improve the national identity of ethnic minority college students.According to the study,we found that the welfare supply of ethnic education in China has become an important means of affecting national identity of minority college students,with the same time that the state supply the welfare of the education,the state also make the patriotic education throughout the uygur students in every stage of education,with the combine of the supply of national education welfare,together constitute the policy tools for the state to build the national identity,and it also plays an indispensable role in shaping the national identity of uygur college students,but in the implementation of the policy,there are still some shortcomings to be further improved and developed. |
