The importance of mathematics teaching design in improving the quality of classroom teaching is self-evident. But,when analyzing the teaching design of some math teachers in junior high school, I have found that there are problems of one kind or another regarding this. What on earth result in these problems? We feel the need to base our research on a relatively perfect theory to analyze the specific problems. After my literature review and discussion with mentor, I have realized that MPCK is worth trying. Hopefully, my research can give rise to some reasonable suggestions concerning the teaching design, and be of practical value.Firstly, I will conduct an analysis of the related literatures on MPCK theory, deciphering the content and structure of the MPCK. Then with the theory of MPCK as basis, I will carry out two case studies. Namely,quadratic radical, corresponding angles, alternate interior angles and consecutive interior angles. Afterwards, I will collect teaching designs,conduct classroom observations and interviews after classes as well as post-exams. I will make comparisons of the mathematics teaching designs between new teachers and expert teachers, concluding problems and reasons of teaching design by new teachers. A brief account is as follows.(1)New teachers has incomplete knowledge which lead to a teaching design that can not show the core knowledge growth process completely.(2)New teachers don;t have rich curriculum knowledge, their content design shows a lack of logical order,so their application ability is to be perfected. (3)New teachers don't have fairly comprehensive and accurate knowledge,their ability of content designs aimed at resolve the confusions faced by students calls for further improvement. (4)New teachers don't have a full understanding of teaching target,their content designs fail to pay enough attention to some key knowledge objectives as well as the emotional training, which need to be further strengthened.(5)New teachers don't have a good command of the teaching method, their teaching design can't be manifested in their teaching method in a flexible manner.(6)New teachers don't have a balanced command of six dimensional knowledge, it's difficult to use them in a sufficient way which inhibit the effect of background knowledge.Finally, as for how to form excellent mathematics teaching designs, I will put forward some feasible suggestions based on the theory of MPCK:(1)perfect one's content knowledge and curriculum knowledge.(2)have a comprehensive and accurate understanding of students.(3)Have a full command of teaching method so as to reach teaching goals comprehensively. (4)pay attention to the balanced development of multi dimensional knowledge. (5)Pay attention to self-reflection and improve the application ability.
