The concept of teacher leadership was gestated in three education reformsof the United States.Since then,it has attracted worldwide attention and research.Teachers' ability and quality have great impact on the rise and fall of the country' s education.Therefore,developing teachers' professional ability becomes the most important thing in thedevelopment of education.To study and understand the teacher leadership in all aspects,not only can promote teacher professional development,increase the efficiency of the teachers,but also can provide: constructive suggestions for teachers,school administrators and policy makers to help them improve the core competitiveness of schools.Teacher leadership has been studied for more than 30 years,the western countries have made many achievements both in theory and practice,particularly in the United States and Britain,the support from the governments and all walks of life help them has perfect evaluation systems of teacher leadership.At the same time,schools at all levels and social organizations have continued to provide trainings and courses of teacher leadership.These successful experiences and practices provide more worthy reference for China' s| development of the teacher leadership.Firstly,the study applies the literature methodology to classify and comb the past studies of the teacher leadership in order to find out the current situation of theoretical research and the development tendency.In the empirical research,this study uses the teachers from six schools of Harbin as the research object.The main investigation is questionnaire with some interviews as supplement.Using the SPSS19.0 software to give a quantitative analysis of survey data.Trying to use specific data to analyze the current situation and existing problems of middle school teachers' leadership.With the guidance of the leadership theories and the successful experience of domestic and foreign development of teacher leadership,the study spare no efforts to provide constructive strategies and Suggestions which could further improve the teachers' leadership and promote the overall development of the school.
