In the process of economic globalization,it is importance for us to learn English well and have good listening and speaking ability,which is beyond doubt.However,due to many factors,students'interest in English learning in senior high school has gradually lost,and presents the simple culture examination ability of students in education.The trend exists in the traditional type of teaching indoctrination,leading students to read and write well,but they do not know how to listen and say.The reform of traditional English teaching method has become the trend of education development.In order to train the student's language application ability and the communication ability,the activity teaching method takes the student as the center,takes the activity as the carrier,which is one kind of practical and effective teaching method suiting the high school English listening and speaking teaching.In the course of teaching,students can show their own abilities and it helps to change the differences between students into useful education resources.Based on the theoretical basis of "activity teaching",we try to get rid of the traditional English teaching,focusing on students' English listening and speaking abilities and explore specific process and mode of teaching activities.In addition,we explore the method and the way to improve the English listening ability of senior high school students,further enriching the activity teaching theory.This study selected the first high school in the first grade two classes in Yibin city,Sichuan Province as empirical analysis.Among them,class 19 is the experimental class,which takes the teaching method.Class 6 is the control class,which takes the traditional teaching method.The teaching experiment lasted for two semesters.The experiment data was analyzed through by questionnaire survey,classroom observation,teacher interviews and test method,to test the effect of teaching activities on students' English listening and speaking ability.The results show that the activity teaching method is very suitable for the teaching activities in Senior English teaching,which not only can improve high school students'English learning achievement and level as soon as possible and improve listening and speaking ability,but also can effectively improve the students,interest in learning English and subjective initiative.It can meet the basic rules of teaching,which is worthy of promotion and application.
