As a unique kind of sport event, winter swimming is, regardless of certain risks, capable of promoting human health and satisfying people's spiritual demands of yearning for nature. This thesis, taking the winter swimming enthusiasts who participate in the risk management of winter swimming as research objects, fulfills the collection and arrangement of the risk information via referring to relevant literature and applying questionnaires, expert interviews and mathematical statistics, and the recognition and assessment of the risk information via applying tabulation and sequencing methods and Pareto Analysis. The revelation of the main factors of winter swimming risks aims at enhancing scientific fitness while reducing risks, and establishing management mechanisms of risks, thus promoting the safety and scientificity of winter swimming for enthusiasts of this sport event, and further completing the scientific connotation of the theoretical system of fitness risk management and eventually facilitating the development of winter swimming. The findings of the research are as follows:1. The gender ratio of the winter swimmers in Wuhan is severely unbalanced in that males account for 84.07 % and the aged 80.37% among the people investigated, which demonstrates an aging phenomenon. Still, the majority of the winter swimming coaches are with medium or even lower educational degrees, among whom only 12.73% are qualified for teaching and 96.36% have the experience of teaching for more than 3 years.2. According to the accident causation theory, the risk factors for the enthusiasts participating in winter swimming fall into four different parts, that is, the human factor(the winter swimming enthusiasts themselves, the coaches and others), the objective factors (the natatoria and the equipment), environmental factor (natural environment and social environment) and other factors.3. The major risk factors of winter swimming respectively consist of the winter swimming enthusiasts themselves (A1), the social environment (C2), the winter swimming coaches (A2) and the natatoria for winter swimming (B1).The conclusions of the research:1. The advantageous resources from the government, society and winter swimming associations should be integrated, relevant facilities and management mechanisms of treatments and rescues should be improved and the cultivation, encouragement and administration of social instructors should be implemented.2. Risk management groups formed by experts should be positively established by relevant authorities to enhance the risk management of winter swimming.3. Organizations of winter swimming should strengthen internal management and supervision and positively launch activities for preventing winter swimming risks and cultivating coaches and winter swimmers' competence of dealing with risks.4. Winter swimming coaches should raise their professional levels, enhance their security awareness and pay more attention to safety education. Winter swimming enthusiasts should enhance their competence of recognizing and handling risks as well.
