| Traditional etiquette culture has always taken a decisive position in traditional Chinese culture.With this culture,the etiquette norms of self-cultivation and its spiritual connation have shaped gentle and cultivated Chinese people over generations and won China a reputation as “a state of ceremonies” all over the world.However,the fact that traditional etiquette culture had taken a heavy toll by being nearly totally repudiated in modern times has made it misunderstood by most people ever since,particularly among teenagers who lack etiquette and moral cultivation.Over the past few years,Chinese government has advocated all-round rejuvenation of traditional Chinese culture.As an indispensable part of Chinese culture,traditional etiquette culture also needs inheritance and development since it is both etiquette education and an approach to moral education.The spiritual connotation it embodies plays an excellent role in booting talent cultivation in current society.Middle school history textbooks that contain abundant resources of traditional etiquette culture is an important way to promote traditional etiquette culture.Not only does rational content of traditional etiquette in history class help improve adolescents’ knowledge on ancient etiquette,but it is also able to boost their accomplishment in etiquette,with moral education eventually realized.In this study,the value of traditional etiquette culture education and significance of contemporary education are analyzed from multiple perspectives;the relationship between traditional etiquette culture and history education in middle schools is investigated from the perspectives of both education in history and cultural inheritance;the importance of adding etiquette culture education in middle school period is also demonstrated.In addition,knowledge on traditional etiquette culture is concluded and collated,followed by brief elaboration on the procedure of adding such content.It is aimed to help students develop sound moral cultivation and abundant cultural accomplishment,improve their cultural confidence and pride by adding traditional etiquette culture to education in history. |
