With the rapid development of technology and economy,globalization is deeply penetrated into every aspect of our lives.The quality of citizens has been improved,and the use of foreign language has become one of the basic qualities that everyone has.As an international language,English is an increasingly important media in the world communication.With the view of English teaching in middle school,the ultimate aim is to cultivate students’ communicative competence,and writing is the main part of it.Therefore,the practitioners of English teaching are attaching more importance to the teaching of English writing.Creative writing started from the West has been introduced to China in recent years,and Fudan University,Peking University and other universities have set up creative writing course,trying to reform the teaching of English writing.However,there are just few researches on creative writing in senior high school English teaching.Based on the present situation,the request of the new English curriculum standards for English writing in senior high school,and the inspiration of some innovative writing modes,this research tries to apply creative writing to the teaching of English writing in senior high school and explore the feasibility and effectiveness.This study was carried out for three mouths with the research objects of one class of En Yang high school in Ba Zhong city.With the theory of creative writing and the theory of language input and output,the author divides the teaching plan into three stages: sentence stage,paragraph stage and text stage.In order to cultivate the students’ creative thinking and stimulate the students’ imagination and writing enthusiasm,this study uses different rhetorical devices and writing styles in the teaching of English creative writing.Based on the analysis of three teaching cases and the feedback information from questionnaire,the results of the thesis show that students not only appreciate the beauty of language,but also could apply it to creative writing,and they can even develop their creativity to create the beauty of language.It also proves that the creative writing teaching in senior high school is feasible and effective.Towards the end of the research,the author thinks creative writing in English teaching in senior high school will be a promising research topic.At the same time,there are some inadequacies in the actual course of the study.Therefore,it is hoped that teachers can continue to improve,and do more in-depth exploration and research in this area.
