Under the background of “the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road”(B&R),countries around the world communicate and cooperate more frequently with each other than before.Economic globalization and cultural diversity have become the characteristics of this era.English,as a world language,is wildly used in every field around the world.China has been taking an essential position in the process of economic globalization,which needs a lot of intercultural communication talents.Therefore,Schools should focus more on cultivating students' intercultural communication skills.However,English Teaching in senior high schools in our country has long been emphasizing language knowledge and training students' language ability,both culture teaching and learning have not been paid much attention to,which has seriously affected the cultivation of students' intercultural communication competence.the new curriculum points out the importance of cultivating students' cultural awareness.English curriculum standards for senior high school clearly stipulates that students are asked to achieve at least level seven by the end of high school.Many authors have explored the topic,they focused on whether the cultural content in high school English textbooks is appropriate or not by analyzing the cultural content and proportion of English textbooks or by doing relevant empirical studies.This research is different from the previous in the theories,which is based upon the mode of intercultural communication competence including cultural knowledge,cultural awareness and cultural skills.The object of the study is NanjiangNo.71 middle school in SiChuan province.Questionnaire and classroom observation are adopted to identify problems in cross cultural teaching.According to the feedback from analysising the data,The author puts forward some feasible improvement measures.
