The Influence Of Inequality Of Basic Education On Individual Income Gap

In recent years,In the first-tier cities the "school district room" phenomenon ferment,the surrounding housing prices of key schools is soaring,a variety of primary and secondary training institutions have set up,the high training costs can’t stop the parents who have the desire that their children’s education quality improvement quickly.In order not to let the children lose at the starting line,parents to provide quality basic education resources for their children as much as possible.Dose the basic education really has an impact on personal income?This is the subject of this paper.This paper argues that there is inequality in the basic education of China at present,and there is inequality between education output and education investment,so as the regions and urban and rural areas.In this paper,the cost-benefit analysis method is used to explain the inequality of basic education which caused by the decision-making of family basic education.It is considered that the household income gap is an important factor which leading to inequality in basic education,and the inequality of education is analyzed from the perspective of government supply of educational public goods.The reason is the level of regional economic development and quality of basic education resources,the impact of the government supplies two basic educations that have different prices and different levels.Finally,this paper analyzes the impact of basic education on personal income gap and finds that basic education has an impact on personal income through the accumulation of human capital.Inequality of basic education leads to the difference of human capital accumulation,and the accumulation of human capital will affect the personal income gap.In the second half of this paper,we have an empirical analysis about the impact of the basic education inequality on personal income gap by using CGSSS 2008 survey data.The study draw the following conclusions:First,the differences of basic education have a significant impact on individual income disparities which in the region,urban and rural areas and key schools and non-key schools.The inequality in basic education will widen the income gap and increase income inequality.Second,the level of parental education will affect the individual’s personal income who was in the key schools.The impact of parental education on the income of individual who was in key schools was 42.30%,while the effect of parental education on the personal income of the individual in key schools was 28.00%.
