The national new Curriculum Standards require the promotion of evaluation of English classroom in primary schools.According to the Curriculum Standards,teachers should establish a multi-level and incentive evaluation system to stimulate the curiosity and enthusiasm of each student in order to achieve students’ all-round development.This paper analyzes and evaluates the evaluation part of Curriculum Standard from the view of the new target requirement in the <Curriculum Standards for English in Shanghai Elementary and Secondary School>.The first chapter elaborates the significance of multi-evaluations in English classroom of primary schools from the perspectives of teachers’ professional development,students’ integrated development and effective implement of school-based evaluation.The second chapter attempts to define concepts like teaching evaluation and multi-evaluation.Based on the summary of humanism theory,multi-intelligence theory and constructivism theory and their respective influence on multivariate evaluation,the paper analyzes the research of multivariate evaluation both at home and abroad.The third chapter analyzes how teachers are supposed to function in terms of diagnosis,improvement and encouragement in the process of teaching and learning and what principles should be followed in designing multivariate evaluations.On the basis of the theoretical research and the information gathered from pre-and post-questionnaire surveys,interviews,observations and classroom practices in author’s school.The fourth chapter sums up the most effective and efficient multi-component evaluations on the subjects involved.The results of these practices are analyzed to improve students’ learning interests,learning habits and academic achievements.The last chapter is the overall summary of the paper,highlighting the significance of multiple evaluations in terms of promoting students’ overall development,enhancing their learning curiosity and increasing their self-confidence.In addition,this paper also has positive significance for curriculum reform,teachers’ professional practice and students’ physical and mental development.
