Textbook and teacher are two essential aspects of curriculum implementation.Textbook which is the product of curriculum standardization and the main instruction resources.The successful implementation of teaching activities can not be apart from textbooks;and teacher is the subject of using textbook,because they must use them to confirm the teaching content and make the teaching plan and improve the curriculum teaching according to students' situation.As the curriculum practitioner,teacher is the key to achieving the value of curriculum loaded on textbook;the level of understanding and using the textbook in teaching process certainly influences the quality of curriculum implementation and the effect of teaching.The research on the use of textbooks is a complex and difficult project.At present,the history of research in China is short and the results are few.The use of textbooks can be studied from two perspectives: one is the teaching material planning and the writing of experts and the other is teaching of teachers.Our research is based on the second.This study through the investigation learns the situation of current junior middle school mathematics teachers use textbooks and grasps the characteristics and the overall level of textbook use that provide a reference for further improving the quality and effect of teaching.The ways our study adopt include literature review ? questionnaire survey ?classroom observations and interviews after class.Based on “the textbook use model?,our study confirm the exact content and method.According to the frame of “the textbook use model” built by Kong Fanzhe and Yan Jiali,we adapt and design the questionnaire,and also investigate the situation and problems of using textbooks through mathematics teachers of 4 junior high schools in Yantai City.Through the survey we found that most teachers can recognize the value and function of textbooks and applied the textbook knowledge flexibly according to the actual situation;but most teachers generally lack consciousness of reflection on the use of textbooks and more than half of the teachers are lack of learning curriculum standards.In order to further understand the textbook using level of junior high school,our survey selected there junior middle school mathematics teachers to test the level of using textbooks,and analyzed the situation using textbook in the process of class through classroom observation.And,after class,we had interviews with teachers to understand theteachers' understanding of the use of textbooks,from which to extract the key information used to determine the level of using textbooks.Finally,put forward some suggestions on how to improve the level of teachers' use of textbooks in the light of the problems existing in the use of textbooks according to the research specifically including: first carefully study curriculum standards;second adapt to the actual level of students;third use textbooks creatively and reflect the intention of design for the in-depth interpretation of the textbook and grasp the textbook structure on the whole;and do scientifically treat its content;fourth reasonably use all kinds of curriculum resources for teaching;fifth improve the teachers' teaching reflection consciousness.
