As the most common mode of teaching and learning,questioning is not only an integral part of Chinese class in grade 3 to 6 of primary school,but also the most fundamental approach of communication between teachers and students.Effective questioning,well-designed according to the teaching goal and learning actuality,would indeed be of great significance to evoke students' learning interest and improve their independent exploration ability.And it is advocated in Full-time Compulsory Education Curriculum Standard(2011)that students should learn in an independent,cooperative and exploratory way,which requires teachers to offer them rights of independency and subjectivity.Based on that principle,the paper actively explores on the requirements and strategies of effective questioning,hoping to invigorate the class atmosphere and improve students' rational thinking,learning interest,activity and confidence,independency and comprehension of concepts.Focusing on the cognitive features and learning ability of students of grade 3 to 6 in primary,this paper has proposed the subject “effective questioning in Chinese class” of them.Throughout the research,various methods such as observation,case analysis and literature study were all involved in the paper in order to make an exploration on the situation,problem and reason,thus determining the standard and requirement of effective questioning and producing effective ones and assessing them according to students' features.Teachers could propose effective questions in four different patterns-separating into several layers,emphasizing certain aspects,evoking interest,and brainstorming-to make difficult points in class much easier for students to understand,highlight the teaching objects,and show teachers' educating talents indeed.With students being more active,interested and independent,their rational thinking develops gradually,advancing the effective questioning process in turn.
