In China,education is regarded as the building blocks of country development.Especially,high-school education is the critical phase of one's school time,which serves as the core of junior education and the bridge to the higher education.Therefore,setting up well-designed and elaborated high-school modules is essential in the education system.In this thesis,a potential methodology of module design is given and discussed using high-school chemistry module as an example.Aiming to improve the design of high-school chemistry tutorial,this thesis studied the correlation of examination and lectures using tutorial analysis,quiz analysis and summarization methods.The sampling of examination was from the quizzes of chemistry test in the University Entrance Exam(UEE)of Inner Mongolia from 2013 to 2016,and the elective module – “Structures and Properties of Substances” was selected as the scope of the tutorial.First,“Structures and Properties of Substances”module is featured on four topics: “structures of atoms and the properties of elements”,“the chemical bond and properties of chemicals”,“the molecular forces and properties of chemicals” and “the value of studying chemical structures”.According to the analysis on the tutorial,it was found that this module emphasized the integration of the knowledge structure and aimed to develop students' reasoning ability,learning ability and teamwork skills.As an elective module,“Structures and Properties of Substances” is focused on helping the students with the better understanding of the composition ofsubstances,the influence of the properties from a chemical's structure,and thus built solid a knowledge base in chemistry.Second,the author analyzed the Chemistry test quizzes in UEE of recent four years,and revealed that the topics related to “Structures and Properties of Substances” contributed to 15% of the grade points,with rare changes among different years.In addition,these topics are usually integrated into quizzes with other topics,which aimed to test the integrated knowledge of the students.In the end,according to the result from the studies,this thesis proposed the tutorial plans of the elective module –“Structures and Properties of Substances” regarding the teaching objectives,tutorial guidance and methodologies.By analyzing the quizzes of UCC tests,the young lecturers can better comprehend the teaching requirement,understand the tutorial,precisely aiming to educate the students with scientific thinking,and thus improve their teaching skills.
