Probability has been becoming more and more important in the middle school mathematics teaching since the new curriculum reform was conducted and will certainly be tested in the College Entrance Examination.This study chiefly aims at the teaching study of the third chapter of Senior Math for China students’ book 3(current PEP Edition),which shows that not only should teachers work on the textbook and teaching methods to have a better implementation of probability teaching according to its features,but also they should learn about the cognitive characteristics and learning laws of students.At the same time,motivating students’ learning interest is also an important task to make them stress on the understanding of probability models and strengthen students’ sense of modeling and application awareness.The text can be divided into six parts.Part 1—Introduction.This part discusses the reasons,purposes,points,current research situation and methods involved at home and abroad in detail.Part 2—An investigation and analysis of the present situation of probability teaching in senior high school.This part concentrates on analyzing the problems lying in teachers’ probability teaching by interviewing and problems existing in students’ probability learning by doing questionnaire survey.Part 3—Analyses and Suggestions on the Teaching Content of Probability in Senior High School.Besides giving interpretation and analysis about the probability of random event,classical models of probability,geometric models of probability and other major content,this part also offers advice on teaching.Part 4—Strategies of probability teaching in senior high school.Introduce examples in life and the history of mathematics into class;Stimulate students’ interest in learning probability;pay attention to the formation process of the concept and make the abstract concept become image;attach importance to the arrangement of practical assignment and strengthen application of modeling awareness;think highly of the practical value of probability and strengthen the application awareness.Part 5—Teaching design and teaching case of high school probability.Part 6—Research conclusion and perspective.
