| In recent years, our country’s volunteer services continue to grow stronger and move forward. Especially since 2008, it has entered the phase of rapid development. Millions of volunteers participated in the Wenchuan earthquake and the Beijing Olympic Games volunteer service, which make the world recognize the Chinese people’s volunteering enthusiasm. After decades of development, China’s volunteer service has made some achievements, but there are still some problems. Voluntary organizations’ internal governance is not standard. The service capability is not strong, and it also experiences brain drain. So there is a big gap between volunteering providing and actual demands. But for every volunteer service projects, the continuity and stability of the volunteers is the motive force of volunteer service. This paper explores the influence factors of sustainable voluntary service through qualitative research methods. For the data and following conclusions, I conducted in-depth interviews with 4 social workers and 10 elderly volunteers in the service project. According to the sustained volunteering model and role identity theory, the study analyzes the factors from individual, organization and society perspectives. First of all, it is mainly to explore matching and satisfaction of personal motivations and the relationship in volunteering from the individual level. Then, it discusses organization’s support and volunteers’recognition from organizational level. Finally, from the society level, it aims to find the influence of role support of important others and the public attitude to volunteer service. So, when volunteers participate in volunteering in organization, motivation and satisfaction result in voluntary behavior; organizational identity can predict long-term volunteer behavior, whereas the role identity could explain the stability of voluntary behavior. Based on the research conclusion, it puts forward related Suggestions. Enhancing professional quality of organization management personnel and giving support for volunteers promotes the organization’s identity. Then expanding the social propaganda promotes people volunteering social cognition and creates a good environment for the development of voluntary service. |
