Chinese martial arts is an art with long history and profound content, is the essence and treasure of Chinese traditional culture. As a kind of historical culture form and an important part of Chinese civilization of five thousand years, Chinese martial arts has its unique features and essence. Chinese martial arts is an art with deep culture and an sport with unique style, and its profond system, conplex and difficult structure is different from any western sports. In its development, Chinese martial arts incorporates all aspects of ancient Chinese philosophy and embodies the perfect combination of man and nature. The traditional culture of Chinese martial arts in colleges refers to " the cultural phenomenon formed in the long-term practice, which all the teachers and students as the main body and the campus as the main field, which teaching martial arts as the main content and martial arts performances, games and lectures as complement, which teaching martial arts while cultivating morals as the main characteristic". This paper introduces the connotation of Chinese martial arts, and its significance in inheritanting Chinese traditional culture in colleges. Basing on the analysis and status of the inheriting of traditional culture of Chinese martial arts in Fuzhou colleges, this paper puts forward the existing problems and future countermeasures, hoping to help inheriting traditional culture of Chinese martial arts in colleges of Fuzhou.
